Gate Tender
The Southern Okanagan Sportsmen's Association (S.O.S.A) is a non-profit, volunteer based organization that is involved in the conservation of wildlife in British Columbia and the education of youth and the general public in all aspects including: conservation, outdoor recreation education, archery, and firearms safety.
S.O.S.A is based in Oliver, BC and was established in 1943.
The Organization invites the public to bid for the following project:
1) Project: Entrance Gate
Scope of Project: Supply, fabricate, paint and install a round tube steel 20'
entrance gate(s).
TENDER PROCEDURE

B. Tender Submission:
The tender will be open until 11:59PM. On Friday, February 19, 2010. Sealed tenders marked as “Gate Tender” will be opened and the winning bidder will be contacted by telephone after the Club's Executive evening meeting on Tuesday March 9, 2010. The Southern Okanagan Sportsmen's Association appreciates all persons who submit bids, however the winning bidder will only be contacted.

Tender Requirements:
1. A sketch plan detailing the finished gate's above surface structural appearance as well as underground anchoring or post installation. This plan can be created by hand, however clarity of the design is important.
2. The gate must be able to be securely locked with a large pad lock. To accommodate the lock tampering, a lock housing consisting of an open bottomed steel box must be installed on the gate(s).
3. The gate must measure 20 feet across in interior clearance length and be suitable to act as a barrier to prevent vehicles from entering into the property.
4. The gate will have two outside steel posts which will be the hinges to gate. Posts must be secured in ground with concrete provided by bidder.
5. The gate will have a removable center post which will be required to be removable in the event of firetruck access or manufactured home installation on property.
6. Gate must be painted with rust proof paint.
7. The Location of the Gate has been 'Staked out' at the subject property 10384 - 384th Avenue, Oliver, BC (The End of Sportsmen's Bowl Road). Location of two staked is located at the front of the property with flagging tape.
8. The gate will be constructed under similar constraints as a BC Parks/Forestry Gate, which a like model can be viewed at at the Okanagan Falls Provincial Park on Green Lake Road, approximately 500 meters South from the junction of Hwy. 97 Bridge and Green Lake Road junction in Okanagan Falls BC.
9. Time frame which the project will be completed.
