The following is what is happening at your club and we need your support to make it continue.

Nov.23 at 7:30 - It is time for our AGM at the club house it would be great if we had a full house this year!

Nov 28th starting at 9am - It is now time for the winter fun to start and coming up first, is the necessary work, a fall clean up.

Dec.5th - is the black powder Turkey Shoot for more information contact Don Hargrave 250-498-4648

Dec 12th starting at 9am - is the 64th annual Turkey Shoot

Events during the day are ongoing, so if you aren’t an early riser you can still come out and have fun.

There will be hands on archery,

We will supply the bows and 3D targets to shoot at, if you bring your own bow then we will have a target set out at a further distance. So for every arrow the hits the animal you get your name in for a Turkey, Ham or Bacon Draw; we give you three arrows for $2. Kids get to shoot very close so bring them over and they may win you a turkey.

There will also be hands on 22 For the kids as well as the Lucky shoot

Of course for those that want to win on skill alone there is the trap event and the long gun event.

The long gun will be run this way.

Long Gun Guidelines for December 12th / 2010 Turkey Shoot

- Factory manufactured hunting long guns only
- Factory markings must be on the barrel to confirm it is a production long gun
- Caliber: All calibers are acceptable
- The long gun and scope cannot exceed ten (10) pounds in combined weight.
A scale will be present for confirmation of weight
- Optics – No scope shall exceed 9 power. If an entrant is using a multi power scope exceeding 9 power, the scope will be set at 9 power for the shoot.
- Shooting Rests: No lead sleds or such type shooting rests where the long gun is cradled in a one piece apparatus.
Non attached front and rear rests are acceptable and they cannot be attached to the long gun in any form. In simple terms, the rest is exactly that, the long gun sits on it for support.
- Targets will be the standard bull’s eye type. If a measurement is needed to establish the distance from the bullet hole to the center of the target, the measurement will be from the center of the target to the center of the bullet hole.

- Shooting for a turkey, one shot per entrant.

Trap will be the same as last year so come out and experience the Fun

There will be food available and warming fires but come dressed for the weather.

Jan 9th 2011 – Trophy measuring night we will have the gate open.

Remember, your 2010 SOSA membership is expiring on Dec 31 and on January 1, 2011 the entrance gates will be locked and a key will be required to gain access. This means that you must renew your membership in order to use the SOSA property.
